The hub(3a) has a hub axle(4a) and a hub housing(1a) which by at least two rolling bearings(2) is rotatably mounted in relation to the axle. At least two of these bearings are located side by side with a small gap in between. The bearings each have rolling members which are installed with a predetermined spacing in relation to each other. The hub axle may be hollow and with a first diameter section which can be used to fit in the bottom end of the bicycle's frame, and a second diameter section located in the central region of the hub axle. The second diameter section of the hollow axle has an outer and an inner diameter, whereby the inner diameter is the same as or greater than the outer diameter of the first diameter section. An independent claim is included for a running wheel, and especially for bicycles, which is equipped with the proposed hub.
