Binary, ternary and quaternary lithium iron phosphates of the general formula Li (FexM1 yM2 z) PO4 in which M1 contains at least one element of Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba , Al, Zr and La group, M2 at least one element of the Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Al, Zr and La group, x = 0.5, y = 0 to 0.5 z = 0 to 0.5, with the proviso that x + y + z = 1, or x = 0, y = 1, z = 0 and in in this case M1 mean at least one element from the group comprising Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn.
