A method for operating a dishwasher (1) with the following steps: A) metering in a strongly alkaline solution with a pH of greater than pH = 10 to a washing liquor; and B) metering an oxidizing agent-containing solution into the washing liquor, and also using a washing-up liquid and a dishwasher.
