The structure (1) has a B-column (2) and a sillboard (3) running at a foot side of the B-column in a longitudinal direction of a motor vehicle. The sillboard includes an outer part and an inner part (5) connected with each other. An open holding seam (8) outwardly bulged in an interior of the vehicle is arranged at a foot side of an B-column inner part (6), engaged in the sillboard and supported with a holding tongue (9) at the sillboard inner part during side collision. The tongue is arranged at a vertical distance to the sillboard inner part. The B-column inner part is formed as a sheet metal part made of lightweight metal.
