摘要

We must give attention to body structure performance during lateral collisions due to the fact that the rate of fatal injury is nearly equal to that from frontal collisions. This paper indicates the development of the body structure against lateral collisions with the aid of CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) analysis. For occupant safety involved in lateral collisions, vehicle cabin strength-especially that of the center pillar-and occupant space after impact are important.
