Method for adjusting boost pressure of e.g. single-level internal combustion engine of motor car, involves adjusting boost pressure by regulating and/or control circuits, which provide reference variable and disturbance variable
The method involves generating boost pressure by a pressure wave supercharger. A fresh air suction channel, a compressed fresh air discharging channel, an exhaust gas supplying channel and an exhaust gas discharging channel are connected to the pressure wave supercharger. A cold-gas housing and a hot-gas housing are connected to the channels. The boost pressure is adjusted by a regulating circuit and/or a control circuit, which comprise a controller (6), actuators (13a-13c), a controlled system and a measuring element and provide a reference variable (1) and a disturbance variable. The boost pressure in the channels is detected as a controlled variable. The controller is designed as a classical proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller.
