The method involves inputting a frequency range, for which individual adjustment of the acoustic reproduction of the audio signals takes place, and inputting amplitude or reinforcing factor of the audio signal for acoustic reproduction. Multiple breakups of frequency range are inputted into frequency intervals, and the start and end frequencies of each frequency interval are determined. A sound signal is generated with the frequency selected between the start and end frequency. The user is requested for changing amplitude or reinforcing factor for authenticating actual reproduced amplitude. An independent claim is included for a consumer electronics apparatus with a control unit, a display unit and an audio signal amplifier unit.
