The deflector (13) has a flexible sheet (14) unrolled from a winding roller (15) for rollably mounting the deflector and rolled on the roller for tensioning the deflector. The sheet is unrolled from the roller such that the sheet is stretched to form a vertically extending portion (16) at back of rear seats (12) of a motor vehicle (10) in a stretched state of the deflector. The sheet is stretched to form a horizontally extending portion and another vertically extending portion at back of front seats (11) of the vehicle and in front of the rear seats in another stretched state of the deflector.
