The surgical saw device has a guide body (20) and a guide groove (22) arranged or formed on the guide body for a saw blade (16). A saw blade deformation detecting unit is provided for determining a deformation of the saw blade during cutting. A drive unit (14) is provided for driving a surgical saw (12). The blade deformation detecting unit has a force or pressure measuring sensor arranged or formed at the guide groove.
