The tool (100) has a tool retainer (150) provided for accommodating an insertion tool (140) e.g. screwdriver bit, and a locking device (240) attached to the tool retainer for locking and unlocking the insertion tool in the tool retainer. A lighting unit (250) is provided for section-wise lighting of a working field assigned to the machine tool during operation. The lighting unit has lighting elements i.e. surface mount device-LEDs, and a lens is attached to the elements. The lens is arranged at the locking device, and the elements are arranged on a printed circuit board. The lens is designed as a biconvex, flat-convex, concave-convex, flat-concave, biconcave or flat lens.
