Solid salt (A) of organosilanol or its hydrolysis/condensation product or organosilanols together with their hydrolysis/condensation products with alkali cations are new, where the molar ratio of cation to silicon is 0.5-3, 1-99 mol.%; and the existing organic radical is methyl or ethyl radical and comprises other organic radicals comprises at least 4 carbon atoms. An independent claim is included for the preparation of (A).
