The handgrip (4) has stopper units for reproducing a gripping position of a hand or hands of a user on a gripping surface (8) of the handgrip, which is manufactured by molding process using a molding tool i.e. casting mold. The stopper units include recesses (9-11) formed in the gripping surface corresponding to an individual impression of the hand or hands. The individual hand impression consists of impressions of ends of hand limbs and/or projecting portions of a ball of a thumb. A handgrip model is manufactured from a plastic preform by forming the individual impression on the preform. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a handgrip for a sports equipment i.e. golf club.
