The protection device has a planar formation which is displaceable between two functional positions. Dimensionally stable guiding ridges are assigned to the planar formation. The guiding ridges outwardly protrude to opposite sides and are guided in longitudinally displaceable manner in the interior sided guides. Each guide is formed by a multi-part guide profile arrangement longitudinally to guiding direction. The guide profile arrangement comprises a drive function profile (13) and a guide function profile (12). A coupling element (18) is provided in the guide function profile.
