The flue (1) has a working chamber (2) for limiting the housing (11) that is provided with an air inlet. An additional suction opening (60,70,80) is provided in an inflow region formed by the air inlet. A device for accelerating a near-wall velocity of an incoming air supply is provided in the upstream of the additional suction opening. Another air inlet (111,113) is provided in the housing and is located in a rear portion of the working chamber. The acceleration device is comprised of an exhaust opening (61,71,81) for blowing the fluid jet. An independent claim is provided for a method for preventing pollutant outbreak in an inflow region of a flue.
