The switch (10) has a preliminary contactor e.g. movable iron core (20), and a main contactor moved independent of each other, so that a contact (12) is closed with the preliminary contactor and the main contactor at different points of time, upon actuation of the switch. The preliminary contactor and the main contactor are moved by energizing a pre-resistor winding (24), and a controller controls the pre-resistor winding. The main contactor is moved through a magnet rotor (22). The iron core is formed from an annular body. An independent claim is also included for a circuit device.
