Torsional vibration damper for use with centrifugal force pendulum in drive train of internal combustion engine of motor vehicle, has elastic element that restricts hollow space between pendulum masses for retaining surrounding fluid
The torsional vibration damper (100) has a rotatable pendulum flange (105) and two pendulum masses (110), which are attached at the pendulum flange in a rotary movable manner. An elastic element (120) is attached at the pendulum masses, and is provided for cushioning of the pendulum masses during the collision of the pendulum masses with each other. The elastic element restricts a hollow space between the pendulum masses for retaining surrounding fluid. The elastic element has an outlet element for controlling the releasing of fluid from the hollow space, when the hollow space is compressed between the pendulum masses.
