Method for ultrahigh spectroscopy i.e. optical Brillouin spectroscopy, of optical signals, involves measuring size of to-be-measured signal within output signal by cross correlation between output signal and modulated signal
The method involves modulating a to-be-measured signal. A spectral diaphragm signal is provided. The signals are introduced into an end of an optical fiber. A pumping wave is provided to cause stimulated Brillouin scattering of the signals in the optical fiber. Another pumping wave is introduced into another end of the optical fiber. An output signal emerging from the latter end is measured. A size of the to-be-measured signal within the output signal is measured by cross correlation between the output signal and the modulated signal. An independent claim is also included for a device for ultrahigh spectroscopy of optical signals.
