The material has a spectral-selective multilayer system (2) for a solar heat collector, and a layer system located on a metallic carrier (1) and comprising a metallic infrared reflection layer (9). An absorber is applied on the reflection layer for absorption of solar radiation, and a transparent cover layer (14) is applied on the absorber. The absorber comprises a lower sublayer (10), which incorporates aluminum nitride compound comprising titanium, and an upper sublayer (12), which incorporates silicon aluminum nitride compound comprising titanium. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a composite material.
