The method involves activating anti-fogging operation of a ventilation and/or air conditioning apparatus of a vehicle based on measurement values of an air humidity sensor and an inside temperature sensor and measurement values of an external temperature sensor. The anti-fogging operation is activated if dew point temperature is larger than external temperature or if the time variation of the measurement values of the air humidity sensor or the time variation of the dew point temperature is larger than a preset threshold level. An independent claim is also included for a device for preventing fogging of window panes of a vehicle.
