The building (1) has a cooling ceiling (3) arranged below a ceiling (2), and a target area (4) arranged below the cooling ceiling. A ceiling intermediate area (5) is formed between the ceiling and cooling ceiling that has a plate-shaped covering element and heat-exchanger elements (6) through which heat transfer medium flows. The intermediate area is limited by space limiting elements, where directed airflow from an opening (10) to another opening (11) is produced in the intermediate area. Height of the intermediate area measured perpendicular to a ceiling plane amounts between 10 and 80 cm. An independent claim is also included for a method for cooling a building.
