The light module (10) has semiconductor light source that emits light and primary optical system (12) which condenses a portion of light emitted by semiconductor light source. The semiconductor light source is arranged in closed proximity with a beam diaphragm (16). A heatsink (20) is arranged indirectly and thermally in contact with the semiconductor light source. The beam diaphragm is arranged as an integral portion of the heatsink.
