The transmission device (4) comprises transmission units (17,18), which are designed as planetary gears and support a portion of a torque that lies in the area of a shaft (19,20) of the planetary gear by a torque unit (29,30) interacting with another shaft (27,28) of the planetary gear. A frictional shift element (31,32) is provided between two shafts of the planetary gear, by which a part of torque of the transmission input shaft (16) lying on the planetary gears is forwarded from the transmission input shaft towards the output shafts (25,26) with a transmission ratio equal to one. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a transmission device.
