The device (1) has a heat source (5) and a cold source (6) thermally coupled to a pyroelectric active material (2), which is arranged in an air stream channel (LK) of an air conditioning apparatus (KA). Nanoparticle (4) is applied in form a geometric and/or chemical nano-structure on the pyroelectric active material. The pyroelectric active material is formed in form of crystals and/or formed as a coating on a carrier (3), and consists of an organic polymer. The heat source and/or the cold source are formed in form of a peltier element or a nozzle for supplying warm and/or cold air. An independent claim is also included for a method for disinfection of an air conditioning apparatus.
