The electrode has an electromechanical transducer (8) comprising two electrode units (9, 10) that are arranged on two respective sides of an elongate strip-shaped piezoelectric element i.e. monolayer. The electromechanical transducer is formed by a single-layer piezo flat film and a polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) film, and consists of luminescence particles. One of the electrode units completely covers the transducer while the other electrode unit partially covers the transducer such that the transducer is exposed for forming an active region (11) in end regions. An independent claim is also included for an ear implant.
