Electromechanical vehicle drive device for multi-track electric car i.e. city car, has coupling device provided in intermediate region that is located between wheels and coupling powertrains that are locked by parking brake arrangement
The device has an electromotor (1) coupled to a left driving wheel (WL) over a left wheel powertrain (DTL) for applying a drive torque (TL) that drives the left driving wheel. Another electromotor (2) is coupled to a right driving wheel (WR) over a right wheel powertrain (DTR) for applying a drive torque (TR) that drives the right driving wheel. A coupling device (3) is provided in an intermediate region that is located between the left and right driving wheels, and selectively couples the powertrains. A parking brake arrangement locks the powertrains. The coupling device comprises a dog clutch (9) and a friction clutch (12) such as overload clutch.
