The transmission (10) has a supplementary shaft (16) arranged parallel to transmission input shafts (11, 13) and a countershaft (15) for realization of a first forward gear and reverse gears. Two sets of idle gears (18, 19) are located on the shaft. The idle gears are operatively connected with fixed wheels (21, 22) of wheel stages (2, 4) over intermediate gears (20) for generating second and third forward gears, respectively. The fixed wheels are located on one of the transmission input shafts. The idle gears are releasably connected with the shaft over positive shift elements (S9, S10).
