The method of producing a mounting interface to a component (10) made of a composite material having fibers (20) and a matrix material (30) surrounding the fibers, comprises exposing a portion of the fibers of the component, and creating a metallic layer by a direct coating of a part of the exposed fibers with a metallic material for the formation of the mounting interface. The fibers are exposed by removing a part of the fiber composite material containing the matrix material. The exposing step is carried out by an irradiation of a laser. The method of producing a mounting interface to a component (10) made of a composite material having fibers (20) and a matrix material (30) surrounding the fibers, comprises exposing a portion of the fibers of the component, and creating a metallic layer by a direct coating of a part of the exposed fibers with a metallic material for the formation of the mounting interface. The fibers are exposed by removing a part of the fiber composite material containing the matrix material. The exposing step is carried out by an irradiation of a laser. The method further comprises completely coating the exposed fibers with the metallic layer by melting the metallic material in the form of a metallic powder, and sealing a transition area between the metallic layer and the matrix material. The coating step is performed to increase a thickness of the metallic layer. A fastening element is positively and/or firmly attached to the metallic layer. The component is made of glass fiber and carbon fiber. The matrix material comprises a synthetic matrix such as synthetic resin matrix. The step of exposing a part of the fibers and the step of coating a part of the exposed fibers are performed prior to the production of the matrix material. The metallic layer of the mounting interface in sections is embedded into the matrix during the production of matrix. Pins protruding on the metallic layer are partially provided for coating the exposed fibers, and engage between the exposed fibers and/or to the exposed fibers. An independent claim is included for a component made of a composite material having fiber and a matrix material surrounding the fibers.
