The method involves bringing active component (2) from a carrier missile (1) into the proximity of a target. The active component towards target is controlled after active component is separated from the carrier missile. The active component towards target is controlled by separate drive system. The active component is controlled by utilizing kinetic energy or force of gravity to the target. The carrier missile is controlled in low height or an average altitude above ground, and controlled shortly before reaching the target in an ascending flight. An independent claim is included for device for controlling active component.
