The arrangement has a body (12) made of a transparent material for light of a light source (14) and comprising a boundary face (10). Another light source and/or a light sensor are provided such that an optical path is provided with the boundary face bordering on a receiving space between the latter light source and another light sensor (16) or between the former light source and the former light sensor. The light of the light sources is incident at an angle, which is different from another angle. The light of the light sources is reflected to the light sensors. The receiving space is designed as a reservoir, a tank or a liquid line for a motor car. The transparent material is polymethyl methacrylate, acrylic glasses or Plexiglass(RTM: transparent acrylic plastic).
