The device has a head part (10) provided with openings e.g. outlet openings (14, 18), and exit slots, for applying adhesive on a surface of a component. The openings are subjected with the adhesive, where the adhesive is applied in layers of adhesive on the surface via the openings. The slots are arranged parallel to each other. One of the outlet openings is subjected with the adhesive over an axial channel (16) of the head part, where flow throughable cross-section of the outlet opening is larger than flow throughable cross-section of the other outlet opening. An independent claim is also included for a method for applying adhesive on a surface.
