The stand has two horizontal rails (1, 2) arranged parallel to each other to guide a rolling carriage (5). A load security testing loading unit is fastened on a top face of the carriage. A trolley is driven against a crash surface (9). The rails are connected with each other at distance by cross beams (3a-3c), and are secured together with the cross beams to form a transportable unit. The trolley is movable on the transportable unit. A moving drive of the carriage includes a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder-piston unit that is arranged below a rolling carriage platform (4). The rails are in a U-shaped cross-section. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a shock testing stand.
