The system has a dental cleaning device e.g. interdental toothbrush, an optical position-determining device, a pressure sensor device, a time measuring device, a computer unit, an optical reproducing apparatus, and a time-of-flight camera with elapsed time and distance measurement functions. A position and/or layer of a working part i.e. bristle, is determined by utilizing the camera, where movement of the system is recognized by the camera and the computer unit.
