Method for determining cylinder mass of diesel engine of car, involves determining compression course depending on change of angular velocity of crankshaft during compression stroke so as to determine combustion chamber filling
The method involves determining a change of an angular velocity (phi) of a crankshaft (109) of a combustion engine during a compression stroke of the engine, where the crankshaft is coupled with a power consumption point over an oscillation-damped coupling. A compression course i.e. cylinder pressure (pzyl) is determined depending on the change of the angular velocity during the compression stroke so as to determine a combustion chamber filling i.e. cylinder mass (mzyl). The engine is provided with a cylinder (105) lying before another cylinder in a firing order of the engine. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a control device (2) a vehicle.
