The method involves providing an opening (3) in a cupping step with a work piece (2). A cup die-plate (4) is arranged on a side (10) of the work piece in another cupping step. A processing tool (5) is provided on another side (20) of the work piece opposite to the former side in an area of the opening (3) in a third cupping step. An operating cylinder (6) of the processing tool is fastened on the cup die-plate. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for pressing a riveting fastener; (2) a tool, particularly a hand tool; and (3) a work piece with a cupping area.
