The microfluidic chip comprises a microfluidic channel system including a horizontal channel and a horizontal chamber. The channel and the chamber are separated by a membrane. The cell-containing liquid is flowed through the channel when the chamber is filled with the cell-containing liquid regardless of the channel. The membrane is biocompatible and formed with pores. The membrane is formed of polycarbonate. An independent claim is included for a method for in-vitro simulation of biological processes in small blood vessels.
