The structure (1) has a steel cross beam (2) arranged between two side frames of a vehicle. A switching bridge (3) is used for attachment of a shift lever, and comprises a vertical support (4) extending away from the cross beam. Holding elements (8, 9) are provided for fastening of the shift lever and located in a tunnel (14) of the vehicle. A supplementary damping element (10) is secured at the vertical support. The vertical support comprises a U-shaped profile in cross-section. The holding elements are connected with a bar of the support.
