The drive system has a prime mover, particularly a diesel engine (10), and a hydrostatic traction drive which is driven by the prime mover and is provided in its displacement on null adjustable traction drive pump (12). The traction drive pump is provided for adjusting its displacement with an actuating unit (14). A control unit (30) is formed as an electronic control unit. The excess of pressures controlled in the both main lines (21,22) are detected by an electronic pressure sensor (32). A corresponding signal is released to the control unit.
