The method involves a three dimensional transformation of a section of a sealing film (8) before installation in the application area. The transformation takes place by deep drawing or pressing. The sealing film is heated for the forming process. The sub-elements, particularly the corner elements of the sealing film are three-dimensionally molded and are connected in water-tight manner with a two-dimensionally molded sealing film. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for drainage of a wet room, particularly a shower area; and (2) a drainage unit for a wet room.
