The storage has a container made of waterproof concrete of a size ranging from 500 cubic m to 1500 cubic m. Water is used as a storage medium and has a maximum thermal capacity of all liquid substances. The container is made of round or oval cross-section. Vertical baffles influence flow characteristics in the container of polygonal shapes. The container is completely installed directly below a building for thermal insulation. The container is laterally, upwardly and downwardly thermally insulated by a foam concrete layer.
