The friction region includes an upper surface having topography with concentric rings (18) and/or partial rings at the rotational axis, where the topography is produced by a cylindrical grinding, embossing or lapping process. An annular disk (12) is formed between an inner edge (13) and a ring gear (14) at an outer periphery. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a friction plate.
