摘要

The wheel (1) has a rim (10) i.e. double hump rim, and a wheel disk (20) connected with each other in a region of a rim well (16) at a welded joint (26) by laser welding. An inner circumference of the rim well is tapered towards the welded joint such that a welding-laser beam (L) unimpairedly reaches the welded joint from a wheel inner side through an inner contour of the rim. The welding-laser beam is aligned in a joint gap between the rim well and the wheel disk. A radius of the tapering of the rim well upto the welded joint lies in a range from 0.8 mm to 2 mm. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a laser welded vehicle wheel.
