The liquid jet-generating device provides a liquid jet along a liquid jet longitudinal axis. Device (10) for processing workpieces (16), preferably blades or workpieces provided with blades, by a wet laser comprises: a base (12); a machining unit (20) movably mounted on the base, which carries a wet laser unit, and a workpiece support (14) on which the blade, or the workpiece provided with blades is attached, where the wet laser unit comprises at least one laser beam source and liquid jet-generating device, and the laser beam source provides a laser beam. The liquid jet-generating device provides a liquid jet along a liquid jet longitudinal axis, where the laser beam in the wet laser unit is coupled into the liquid jet and is applied to the workpiece using the liquid jet as a light guide. The machining unit and the workpiece support are movable relative to each other for machining of the workpiece, where the point of impingement of the liquid jet longitudinal axis follows on the blade or the part of a machining path which is predetermined by laser processing of workpiece shape, which is to be achieved. An independent claim is also included for processing workpieces, preferably blades or workpieces provided with blades, which is carried out by using the above mentioned device.
