Device has jets (11,12) e.g. laser beam for the treatment of workpiece (5) and a movable jet head (10) e.g. laser head. A monitoring device (18) has a sensor unit (21) attached to the jet head, preferably at the exit of the jet optics. The sensor unit has a projection mechanism and a controllable servo unit for an image sensor. The sensor unit is connectable to a manipulator (2), guiding the jet head e.g. a multi-axle robot. A position monitoring (19) is provided for a focus point (13) and/or an impact point (32) of the jet. Independent claims are also included for: (a) jet mechanism e.g. remote lasers for the treatment of workpiece with a jet-pours (b) jet working on station for the treatment of workpiece with a manipulator.
