Bacterial nanocellulose body (1) useful as an implant or transplant for in situ cell colonization and tissue formation, comprises a channel-like pore structure, a multidimensional structure which is interconnecting and accessible from outside, and channel-shaped cavities (2) extending in any directions with open cell wall, which have a diameter of 10-1000 mu m, preferably 10-250 mu m. An independent claim is also included for producing the bacterial nanocellulose body comprising introducing channel-shaped cavities into dry, liquid containing bacterial cellulose, which is compressed relative to its original structure of any geometry, and used as a starting material for the bacterial nanocellulose body. ACTIVITY : Immunosuppressive. No biological data given. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
