Method for limiting rotational torque in continuously variable power-split transmission of propulsion system of e.g. vehicle, involves closing friction clutches such that torque transmittable over clutches is limited to threshold value
The method involves switching friction clutches (31, 39) between different switching regions. The friction clutches are closed in one of the switching regions such that a rotational torque is limited in a continuously variable power-split transmission (2) while a torque transmittable over the friction clutches is limited to an upper torque threshold value by operating the friction clutches. The threshold value is determined based on transmission ratios within the power-split transmission, a permissible maximum torque at a drive shaft (6) and a permissible maximum torque at a driven shaft (7). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computing unit for performing a method for limiting a rotational torque in a continuously variable power-split transmission (2) a drive (3) a computer program comprising a set of instructions for performing a method for limiting a rotational torque in a continuously variable power-split transmission (4) a machine-readable storage medium comprising a set of instructions for performing a method for limiting a rotational torque in a continuously variable power-split transmission.
