The method involves coding the data by an encoder which is connected with the transmitting device. The data are transmitted from the transmitting device to the receiving device by a transmission channel. The data are decoded by a decoder which is connected with the receiving device. The lost or damaged data are restored during decoding. A generator matrix is used for coding and decoding. The data are coded by concatenation of maximum distance separable codes and fountain codes. The generator matrix of the maximum distance separable codes has a Vandermonde or Cauchy structure. The inverse matrix of the Vandermonde or Cauchy matrix is calculated during decoding.
