The hydrostatic axial piston motor has a cylinder drum (2), in which multiple cylinders (8) are formed, where pistons (10) is guided in the cylinders. A hydrostatic pressure relief is provided in a contact area between the cylinder drum and a distributor cap (16). The hydrostatic pressure relief is dependent on an operating pressure of the cylinders. An additional pressure relief is provided in the contact area, where the additional pressure relief is activated during starting or at low speed.
