The calorimeter (1) has upstream and downstream fluid temperature detecting units (2a, 2b) for measuring fluid temperature at multiple points and arranged upstream and downstream of a fluid heater (3). A fluid conduit (4) i.e. plastic pipe, is arranged between the fluid temperature detecting units and made of a small thermal conductive material. The fluid conduit exhibits thermal conductivity of 0.25 Watt per meter kelvin. The fluid temperature detecting units comprise a set of temperature sensors, and an evaluation unit is attached to the fluid temperature detecting units.
