Biogas plant comprises a first container chamber (10), a second container chamber, a separator (24) for separating biomass solid phase from biomass liquid phase from the first container chamber, and a conveyor for conveying the biomass liquid phase from the first container chamber to the second container chamber. Independent claims are also included for: (1) separator comprising a backwashing device (96) for back washing the separated biomass liquid phase; and (2) producing biogas, comprising performing acetogenesis, and transferring biomass liquid phase during performing methanogenesis.
