The invention relates to a method for determining Grid Ionopsheric Vertical Delay GIVD parameters for a particularly satellite-based augmentation system, wherein a virtual grating of the multi-point ionosphere - IGP - is provided, wherein for each IGP of the virtual grating a maximum GIVD Parameter - maxGIVD (IGP) - and a minimum GIVD parameter - minGIVD (IGP) - is determined, wherein the determination of a maxGIVD (IGP) for an IGP is chosen so that no value for the vertical total electron content - vTEC - at any Ionosphere transit point - IPP - is greater than that resulting from a first interpolation with the maxGIVD (IGP) of multiple IGPs selected to interpolate for the IPP, the determination of a minGIVD (IGP) for an IGP being so chosen in that no vTEC at any IPP is smaller than that resulting from a second interpolation with the minGIVD (IGP) of several IGPs used for the Interpolation have been selected for the IPP, and wherein for each IGP from the respective maxGIVD (IGP) and minGIVD (IGP) a transmission intended GIVD parameter is determined.
